Imola Desicration Imminent

Well that may be a bit strong but the revamp project which was just laid out before the Imola City Coouncil has been approved.

The only problem...

Who does this guy have pictures on?

Gladly he is not makng extensive track changes - only straightening out of the Variante Bassa (which is a drag IMO - I liked it for that last minute braking action) and the demo and reconstruction of the paddock.

I was there with a group of us Minardi fans last year and we hung out in the garage and paddock - def needs more space but with Tilke doing the design I have the feeling that it won't have the same feel and flair that the old tower had.

Glad I saw it then.

Its funny - in the country that altered the world of architecture and still sets design trends for all to follow F1 has to go for Tilke.

F1 needs Islands. Where people side by side go either left or right of an identical stretch ot track. Perhaps with one curve. This would split up the field and make them comw together again on a long staright so it would still be safe...

Not familiar enough with Imola to be able to comment but mcsf knows what he talks about so I agree!!!

fantastic pics Murph. Thank you so much for sharing. You guys were so tight with Minardi. So hope they get back into F1 one day. Maybe with your crusade they will.

Here's the formula to get them back or buy them:

Instead of million pixel websites they should do a million sticker Minadri car.

10,000 companies pay $10,000 year. That would equal = 100,000,000 or 100 Mil a year. A good enough budget to be competitive. With Ernies bonus money etc that would pay for the expenses of selling the sponsorships and aquiring a few major sponsors for a total annual budget of 150 mil. US dollars Not Lira.
