If I hear this guy Steve Matchet (speed TV channel commentator) refer to any more drivers as "son" I will personally beat up this chubby ex- Benetton tool boy. Just cause he once worked in F1 garage doesnt give him the right to refer to drivers as SON. He does it when they do some bad things... You pretty much have called every driver son then they make mistakes so give it up... He even called Jaques Villeneuve Son once - I mean come on. Have soem respect - Yeah he is a SON of a champion and an F1 champion himself. So SHUT the F up you chubby announcer. You couldnt even fit into the thingypit of an F1 car.
Otherwise you are doing an ok job - just let go of the Son stuff and I'll forgive you.

hmmmmmm..... time to get your high blood pressure prescription refilled  I have been taking Lotrel and it seems to be working pretty good....... though when I saw Jacques force Tonio off the track, I called him "son".....but I added "of a pregnant dog" .................. I thoroughly enjoy David & Steve's banter.............. |

I really like them too. But calling F1 drivers Son when you are a ex whats that lift tool called- boy just drives me nuts.
Dont get me wrong I like their commentating - Great team and also of course Peter Windsors insight.

I wonder is he related to the Guy on Setanta here in Ireland who calls most of the drivers 'Boy'. Thing is he cant be more than 25 himself!

1: Steve Matchet is a Brit who worked as a mechanic for a couple of F1 teams, notably Benetton ( he was one of the fellows in the famous pit fire) ..... he has authored a couple of books on his Benetton years......
2: the guy you call annoying is David Hobbs...... a Brit who races F5000, Can Am, and Le Mans during his career........ a very good driver and one I enjoy listening to on Speed because of his caustic sense of humour.

actually I dont think they are annoying - I think they all do a great job EXCEPT for Matchet who keeps saying this SON thing. Maybe he got it from Hobbs but HE alone is now the one who still keeps saying it.
I dont care if he was in the refuel fire or not. You dont call F1 drivers son. You may be pissed that they rule the paddock and as a former mechanic you have some old axes to grind but let go of the SON crap. Thats all I ask for...
